How many and what size fire extinguishers do you have on your Haul Trucks and Support equipment?

• All rolling stock has a minimum of 2, 20 lbs. cartridge operated, ABC extinguishers with Nitrogen cartridges.
  Our stationary equipment (draglines, shovels etc.) has stored pressure extinguishers both ABC and C02 for electrical room etc. The number on these varies significantly.
  Almost all equipment has automatic fire suppression with manual activation at ground level.
• Haul trucks – 2 on the bumper 2 on the top deck, left and right of the boarding points. 20lb units.
  D11 – 1 20lb unit or 2 10lb units, left and right of the machine
  D8 – 1 20lb unit
  24 – 2 20lb unit left and right of the machine
• We have a minimum of 1 – 20 lb extinguisher.
  Most times we exceed the 1 and have 4 or more on our larger pieces
• We use 20 pound multi-purpose stored pressure fire extinguishers on our equipment
  Haul trucks require 2 extinguisher - 1 reachable from the ground (mounted on bumper) and 1 beside the exit ladder on the upper deck
  Large support equipment (examples - Graders M16 or larger, Dozers D8 or larger, Loaders 988 or larger) require 2 extinguishers
  For smaller support equipment a risk analysis will determine if any extinguishers are required.
• Our equipment has 20lb cartridge operated fire extinguishers on board.
  Haul trucks and most support equipment have 2 fire extinguishers on them.
• We have the following manual hand held extinguishers on our primary fleet:
  All have 20lbs fire extinguishers.
  980 = 2, one on the right side bumper, one on the deck beside the cab.
  D11 = 2, one on either side of the cab
  D8 Tailings = 2, one on the LHS mounted to the ROP, the other on the RHS behind the cab.
  24M = 2, one on either side of the cab.
  As a side note our automatic system details are also as follows:
  Komatsu-980E
  Automatic actuation consist of Fire Wire and 1 IR Camera in front engine bay.
  Manual actuation consist of 1 ground level actuator near fire extinguisher on bumper
  And 1 push to activate button located in cab on display module.
  Capacity of chemical in tanks:
  3 x Tanks 30 gallons of wet chemical in each tank 90 gallons in total
  3 LT 50 nitrogen tanks with up to 2000 to 2200 psi 1 per each chemical tank.

  Automatic actuation consist of Fire Wire
  Manual actuation consist of 1 electric manual actuator on right side of engine near lower spot light.

  Capacity of system:
  2 x 10 gallon tanks one on each side of operator cab.
  2 LT 30 nitrogen tanks 1 per each tank.
  CAT D8 Tailings
  Automatic actuation consist of Fire Wire
  Manual actuation consist of electric manual Actuator on rear left side of dozer.
  Push to activate button located in cab on display module.
  Capacity of system:
  1 x 5 gallon tank on outside right of the operator cab
  1 x 10 gallon tank roof of cab.
  Both tanks are supplied by 1 LT 30 nitrogen tank for each tank.
  CAT 24 M
  Automatic actuation consist of Fire Wire
  Manual actuation consist of 2 electric manual actuators one on each side to the rear.
  A push to activate button in cab on display module.
  Capacity of system:
  2 x 10 gallon tanks 1 at the rear of unit on each side.
  Both supplied by 1 LT 30 nitrogen tank each
